backtagging: I am absolutely okay with this! Life gets us all, things come first. I will keep tagging things/plot a resolution with you as needed.
threadhopping: If it makes sense! Networks I'm more likely to say just go for but for logs let me know if you'd like to just in case it alters any plans.
fourthwalling: Not for Vanessa but a lot of the people in her life are 'fictional' -- she'd accept that stories may have been written about them in their future (e.g. Dorian Gray, Victor Frankenstein) etc
offensive subjects: None

fighting/injuries/death: Absolutely okay! Vanessa isn't a strong fighter but that doesn't mean she's defenseless. Come plot with me

telepathy/psychic abilities: Though a powerful witch Vanessa doesn't have much training with her gifts and thus hasn't learned how to shield herself from mental intrusions. Your character would be able to pick up on her abilities and her innate darkness (lmk if you plan to do this so I can slam more details at you)
mental state: (cw: depression) Vanessa's mental state is pretty awful. She has a lot of guilt that she carries due to her past actions and is at a point in her life where she has been incredibly beaten down (hunted by Lucifer, suffering mental attacks by the nightcomers, possession) and is finding it hard to keep herself going. Though she continues to fight away to hold it off, busying and distracting herself where she can, there may be moments where this 'slips' or Vanessa cannot find the strength to keep fighting.

physical affection: If you're not someone that Vanessa is close to she will find it strange/a little uncomfortable. If you're friendly she will be receptive to light touches but (for now) nothing more.
flirting: She can be a little flirty herself and will not push away light appreciation though she isn't (for now) looking for anything.

PERMISSIONS
DIVINATION

As a daywalker (a witch) Vanessa is able to divine past, present and future events, practising this most often through the use of tarot cards, or psychometry, or in reading someone's past through touch. Vanessa is also clairvoyant, highly intuitive and is able to commune with spirits. With her clairvoyance, she has been able to sense the power of the nightcomers, Lucifer and vampires or know when something is amiss, though it is not the most informative sense.

MAGIC

Vanessa practices apotropaic magic, a type of magic used to turn away harm/evil. Vanessa is knowledgeable in protective enchantments/wards and on numerous occasions has created wards using her personal totem (a scorpion). These wards can prevent access to an area by anyone that is not human or does not walk in the light. When using her magic verbally Vanessa speaks using the Verbis Diablo, language of the devil. The spells that Vanessa has most frequently used include spells to repel attacks or to banish evil, and she has also cast a spell to exorcise the devil (and send him back to Hell) and cast a protection spell. She can also, from a grimoire, read and cast other spells but these are not ones that she knows, for example Vanessa has also used it to cast a spell causing someone's death. In addition to her own abilities, Vanessa is knowledgeable about other aspects of the occult, including the supernatural, the demimonde, and the darker aspects of the occult (such as practised by the nightcomers).

MEDIUMSHIP

In addition to divination Vanessa is able to channel spirits and supernatural beings, with Vanessa having previously been host to very powerful spirits (and even possessed by Amunet and Lucifer). Unlike possession, Vanessa does not remember or remembers very little about the experiences that occur whilst she is channelling a spirit.

FORM

Please give as much detail as possible as it'll help me out thread-wise particularly if any of this comes up. Generally, for each situation, there would also be plotting before/during the thread but this gives me a general idea of what you're okay to plot in advance.

DIVINATION If Vanessa ever read your character's tarot/saw their past are there any events that you would not like her to see? Alternatively, are there any events that you would particularly like to use? Does your character have a 'power' to them? (e.g. magic/vampire etc) If yes, would Vanessa be able to sense that there is something different to them (but not know what) or are they able to hide that they have this power? MAGIC In terms of Vanessa's wards would they work against your character? Vanessa's wards work as a protective barrier to prevent entry to a place if the person is 'does not walk in the light' (to block evil). Note: even though Vanessa walks in the light the wards blocked her entry until a spell allowed her to pass through (perhaps blocking by sensing her magic). Is there anything that would cause her wards to fail? Vanessa, though powerful, is less practiced in setting them up. It could be that something could cause them to not work, such as power, your character not being recognised by the wards as having power to them etc. Let's figure it out! MEDIUMSHIP Plot-specific, if Vanessa ever held a séance would your character wish to attend? As Vanessa can commune with spirits/has been possessed, does your character have any abilities that would affect this? E.g. possession of another person, mind control, body control etc ANYTHING ELSE Is there any information/plot things you'd like to add, or questions to ask?
